Pressure treated lumber contains, both common boards, dimensional lumber, post, and fence pickets. Treated wood is treated with either ACQ or MCQ chemical mixes, which allow the wood to resist rot, fungus, and termites.
Pressure Treated lumber is Southern Yellow Pine lumber which has had chemical preservatives forced into it under pressure. The two types of chemicals used in the lumber we carry are Alkaline Copper Quat (ACQ) and Micronized Copper Quat (MCQ). ACQ lumber is typically a greenish color, while MCQ typically has a yellow tint. Lumber products are treated to different retention levels, measured in preservative per cubic foot or (pcf). Lumber used above ground is treated to 0.25pcf and lumber intended for below ground use to treated to 0.40pcf.
Typical uses of treated wood are for fences, exposed exterior structures, and framing plates.
